So, finally
the wait is over as the giants Airtel, Vodafone and Idea have launched 3G
services in Punjab circle. It’s actually Idea Cellular who has launched 3G and
allowed Airtel and Vodafone to offer the services in the same circle.
The
services are introduced in Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Nawanshahr, Jagraon,
Malerkotla and Nabha and are planned to 170 towns in the state.
3G
in Punjab is provided through ICR i.e. Intra Circle Roaming agreement by both
Airtel and Vodafone.
Airtel
has also launched 4G cellular services in Chandigarh area at a price similar to
3G, which was earlier available only for dongle use or home Wi-Fi use and was
later introduced exclusively for iPhone 5S & 5C.
Airtel
is providing 3G starting at ₹102 for 300mb valid for a month, Idea at ₹19 for 80mb valid for 2 days and Vodafone
from ₹46 for 150mb valid for 7
days.
Airtel
also claims that it’s the largest mobile company in Punjab.
